Job Title: Senior Programmer Analyst (Birmingham)
Department: Corporate Information Systems
Reports To: Programming Manager
SUMMARY: The general purpose of the position is to provide technical and analytical skills related to the designing, developing, programming, and testing of computer software. It is also to provide leadership and training for those programmers with less experience or skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Evaluate complex user requests to determine feasibility, cost and time requirements, and current system compatibility.
Review with user the exact specifications requested and insure that these specifications are translated correctly into a program design.
Perform independent research to stay abreast of specific technical capabilities, and identify ways the technology can be adapted for programming use.
Recommend new and better ways for processing various software systems.
Provide technical assistance and training as needed.
Participate in discussions and present recommendations at planning meetings.
Monitor performance of programs after implementation.
Recommend ways to streamline operations to produce savings of time and money.
Insure that all programs are documented and tested prior to implementation.
Assist other programmers in debugging programs.
Recommend to users how system requirements can best be met.
Other duties as assigned.
Regular and appropriate attendance is expected in this and all other positions at NCP.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Have a working knowledge of a specific set of programming language constructs such as Visual Basic, structured programming methods, and object oriented design/programming methods. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: BS or equivalent degree in a computer-related field preferred (not required), formal programming experience preferred in NetCOBOL Microsoft Visual Studio, PReSIDE (Pres - Integrated Development Environment) and GMC (Designer and Interactive). Other GUI based languages such as Dialogue are highly desirable to have in the skill sets. C# and COBOL backgrounds will also be acceptable for consideration.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Oral and written proficiency with the English language and any other required or noted languages and/or dialects.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS/ REASONING ABILITY: Basic mathematical skills and personal computer skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required.

Job Title: Programmer - Jacksonville, FL
Department: Programming - Jacksonville, Florida
Reports to: Jacksonville Programming Manager
Summary: A level one programmer is responsible for coding and testing changes on existing and new programs. Day-to-day interaction with employees from other departments within the company is required. This contact will normally be to resolve questions about product definition, client file structure, client contractual requirements, etc.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Daily maintenance of existing programs and scripts.
Develop new program scripts.
Work on large-scale development of special programs or enhancements.
The person in this position will be requested to perform other duties as assigned. Regular and appropriate attendance is required in this position as it is in all positions at NCP.
A degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Information Systems or training in the programming languages used.
COBOL or C programming required.
Additional programming languages desired:
Print design composition software
UNIX operating system
GMC is a plus
Superior attention to detail skills
Strong analytical skills
Strong application of logic
Read, write and communicate the English language fluently
Fundamental mathematical skills and ability to manage mathematical calculations and formulas

Work EnvironmentGeneral office and production environments are climate controlled. The noise level in the office environment is usually quiet. While testing print programs in the plant the employee is exposed to production noise levels for short periods of time. When working in the plant area, you will be expected to comply with all safety regulations/policies that apply to that area.
8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday; Overtime as needed, most probable during the month of January.
